Angel Falls 2001 a BASE Odyssey

Tom Sanders and Aerial Focus postponed the 2000 trip to the Angel Falls because of the devastation in Venezuela and Tom's broken back which meant he wasn't going on the 2000 trip.

As Tom told "skyXtreme", 99% of his expedition participants wanted to wait until 2001 to go with him rather than with his representatives. So "Angel Falls 2001 a BASE Odyssey" is scheduled for February 2001. Exact dates will be determined very soon, not to conflict with the PIA Symposium in San Diego. The trip is almost full, but Tom may take a second trip right after the first.

Night 60-way Record Attempt

Steve Woodford is organizing a two-point 60-way night dive April 14-15 at Skydive Elsinore in California. The largest night dive so far is a 49-way built last July at The Ranch parachute Club in Gardiner, NY. Woodford helped organize that jump and the previous 42-way at Zephyrhills, FL in 1998. As Steve stated, he is doing this night record on the West Coast to bring them on board for the night 100-way later in the year, as most participants in the previous records were East Coasters.

They will be using a tailgate lead, Twin Otters trail. Skydiver who were on the previous records or have large formation experience and a few night dives and wish to play can contact Steve Woodford by phone at 303-833-2000. For more information check out their web site.

A great weekend of 60-way sequential skydiving in the National "Speed 60" competition will be following the Night World Record.

Skydiving at the North Pole

Florida skydiver Bill Booth is organizing another skydive at the North Pole. The participates will leave from the U. S. in early April.
