Speed Skydiving Competition in Lapalisse, France. July 13-16, 2000Excessive speed is authorized...in the air! Get out of the plane and go as fast as possible!-- Exit altitude 4300m! The speed skydiving competition is being organized at one of Europe's best dropzones -- Lapalisse (Professional dropzone near Vichy in France) to make it easy for everybody to enter. Registration fee is 260 FF. Entrants must compete in a qualifying round with a maximum speed over 187 mph for men and 168 mph for women. There will be two Skyvans, and they will lend you a Pro-Track for the competition. A minimum of 200 jumps is needed to compete. You can enter the competition at any time up to the July 14, after doing the qualifying jump. If you have a problem being here at that time, please contact us before hand, as July 14 is a French national holiday. There will be lots of prizes to win and a big party on Saturday evening. Lapalisse features a bar, restaurant and swimming pool. Rooms or camping on the dropzone. |

Skydive Festival 2000 and 8th World Championship in Canopy Formation |
Skydive Festival 2000 in will be held in Immola, Finland from June 23 to July 8, 2000.
In conjunction with the Skydive Festival the 8th World Championship in Canopy Formation will take place from June 30 to July 7, 2000. These events will be organized by Skydive Karjala and hosted by the Finnish Aeronautical Association at Immola Airfield in Imatra. |

During the Skydive Festival, skydivers attending can not only watch the Canopy Formation Championships but also make jumps out of a MI-8! This Russian-built helicopter holds 36 jumpers and flies to 12,000 feet in 12 minutes. The Immola dropzone is located a 10-minute drive from the city of Imatra in South-Eastern Finland. |
The nearest airport is in Lappeenranta, which is 40 km away. The capital of Finland, Helsinki, is 260 km from Immola. There is a train connection to Imatra from Helsinki and daily flights from Helsinki to Lappeenranta. A direct flight from St. Petersburg, Russia, to Lappeenranta operates from Monday through Friday. Spanish Open Championships 2000 June 26 - July 2, 2000 - Armilla, Andalucía, España
Formation Skydiving, Freestyle, Skysurfing, Freefly, and Style & Accuracy
Spanish Open Championships, which is a test event for the World Air Games 2001, will take place June 26 to July 2, 2000, in the Armilla Air Force Base located four kilometers (a 10-minute drive) from the city center of Granada, in Southern Spain. The elevation of the field is 700 meters and it has an unobstructed open area of 3,150 meters by 2,000 meters.
The Test Competitions 2000 (TC 2000) are intended as a preparation for the World Air Games 2001 as well as the 2001 World Championships. With the organization crew being largely international, the TC 2000 are aimed to test the meteorological conditions of the site in a similar period of time and some parts of the infrastructure, as well as to train some members of the local organization. The TC 2000 also provides interested competitors with an opportunity to train and get familiar with the site in preparation for the 2001 Event.
Last, but not least, a very pleasant stay is guaranteed in a region which is renowned for its tourism interest, food (it is neighbor to the land of the sherry wines), folklore and enjoyable character of its people!
