  • Results of California Tracking Contest

    The winners of the 14th annual California Tracking Contest are:

    Luke Hively, A-33383, (intermediate division) 112 jumps, with Jeff Norman taking second place. In the open class it was Pete Wyllie all the way. Pete is from Australia and was trying to fly home. Second place was a tie between Brian Fairhurst (three time winner) and Howard Hutchinson from White City Oregon. Congradulations to all!

    Mad John Dobleman has announced that he will run the Byron California Tracking Contest over the 4th of July with a $300.00 prize to the fastest person there.

    $12 jumps at Millennium Skydiving throughout May

    Millennium Skydiving, situated at the Greater Kankakee Airport, will be running $12 jumps to 13,500' all day every day through the end of May for licensed experienced jumpers! They are located at Exit 308 on I-57.

    Square One to open new Gear Store at Crosskeys Dropzone

    Skydive Crosskeys and Rigging Adventures, both located in Crosskeys, NJ, are proud to announce that Square One Parachute Sales will be moving east to open a new location called Square3.

    Square3 Parachute Sales will offer the same excellent and personalized service that the area currently receives from Rigging Adventures, while offering access to Square One's vast inventory of skydiving equipment, clothing and unique products. Lessa Kruse (currently of Rigging Adventures) will continue gear sales at Square3 along with Mary Farwell (currently of Color Concepts). Rigging Adventures will continue to provide all rigging services on the Crosskeys Dropzone. Square3 is looking forward to providing its services to the Eastern Seaboard.

    New Videos

    Joe Jennings released "Good Stuff"

    Skydiving Cinematographer and Emmy Award winner, Joe Jennings (Pepsi "Goose", "Freefall Cars", George Bush’s skydive) released his new video "Good Stuff" on April 15. Good Stuff is a fresh and unusual perspective into the global sub-culture of extremists who thrive on the cutting edge of skydiving.

    The video explores a variety of disciplines within the sport of skydiving with world champion formation skydivers, skysurfers, freeflyers, and B.A.S.E. (cliff) jumpers. And Hairball Stunts with flying cars, water heaters, motorcycles, golf carts, couches, a truck, an entire living room, and a jumper who freefalls without a parachute. GOOD STUFF is a roller coaster of three dimensional perspectives that show skydiving as it has never been seen before.

    Joe Jennings is a four time world champion camera flyer who’s innovative techniques have won two Emmy Awards, a Cleo Award, First Place in the "Aerial" category at the Gravity Sports Film Festival, and First Place in the Extreme Games with skysurfer Rob Harris.     The Cloud's Edge
    The Cloud's Edge, a new skydiving film by "New Tribe Entertainment" offers a little bit of all. Produced by Larry Kershenbaum, the owner of Skydive America Palm Beach and Olav Zipser the father of Freeflying and drive behind the Space Games and The First School of Modern Skyflying, it opens the door on some of the best flyers in the world. The film includes some of the newest styles and moves in freeflying and some great footage of technical big ways of up to 34 jumpers with 15 grips over Vichy in France.

    Mardi Gras Video - Gold Coast Skydivers
    The Gold Coast Skydivers Mardi Gras Video is now available. It is nearly one hour long and showcases a multitude of events including, but not limited to: 34 way record attempt (3 perspectives), 17 way freeflying, beach jump with landings, formation flying, excellent horny gorilla, good music, a bit of the party Saturday night (nightshot), and much more.

    The footage was recorded digital, edited at a computer, and copied to a DV tape, retaining the original quality. The price is $25, including shipping.     Training Videos for Judges

    Video World Championships 1999
    Videotapes of the World Championships last year in Australia are available for 4-way and 8-way RW, men's and women's freestyle, and men's and women's skysurfing.
