Here we'll show you every month a small collection of useful, useless and funny or whacko sites on the Web which are always worth a visit on rainy days. Enjoy!!

The Darwin Awards

Naturalist Charles Darwin postulated that the effects of natural selection applied over time would tend to evolve individuals more able than their predecessors. This is called "Survival of the Fittest". This Site honors Charles Darwin's hypothesis by annually bestowing Darwin Awards upon (the remains of) individuals who have given their all in an effort to improve our gene pool.

Essentially it is commemorating those who douse the gene pool with chlorine by finding innovatively moronic ways of killing themselves, thereby helping to eliminate undesirable weaknesses from the genome. The single-minded purpose and self-sacrifice of the nominees, and the spectacular means by which they off themselves, is laudable and not to be scoffed at. It is indeed a (dubious) honor to be granted a Darwin Award.

STIMULUS

Stimulus wants to do more than teach you the basics behind site design, the physical underpinnings of the Internet, and tech jargon--it wants to become your way of life. Well, maybe it doesn't want to do that--quite--but this hip tutorial spot does stretch things a little too far with some of its nontutorial sections. Still, for what it's trying to do--teach about the Web--it does a good job. You'll find how-to's on frames, HTML, and CGI scripts broken down into easy lessons. Some freeware is also available.

Eurotrip

Traveling to Europe and interested in finding hostels, reviews and links? Check out Eurotrip. Here you will find places to visit, sights to see, favorite rail journeys, travel tips, hostels FAQ's-even a where-to-party guide!

This site has tactics for finding a bargain fare - both on and off the web. In addition, a discussion boards and a large travel discussion community will give you all the information you could possibly need on destinations, cheap flights--anything to do with travel.
