    Jean-Guy Meilleur T-Shirts

On September 9, 2000, the Calgary Parachute Club lost a great friend, artist & freefall photographer - Jean-Guy Meilleur. His contributions to the skydiving community over the years are too numerous to list and the Calgary Parachute Club is especially thankful for the artwork he did for them. This artwork was used to create their club's T-shirts.

For the 2000 Alberta Provincials, JG created a new design. It shows a 4-way jumping over the Drumheller airport with a head-down cameraman (JG) filming them. JG signed his artwork this time and Jean-Guy '00 is written by the runway. The Calgary Parachute Club is going to print a special order for his family and would like to give friends an opportunity to purchase shirts as well.

JG's other design for the club was a T-Rex snapping at a jumper under canopy - these shirts can also be ordered. The T-shirts will be $20 Cdn (XXL available for $22 Cdn) plus shipping with all proceeds (less costs) going to help with funeral expenses.

If you would like to order any of JG's designs - please contact Tina Buckthorp by e-mail at bucktt@tdbank.ca. or at (403)730-5422 or 292-2799 (work). This will be a special order - so please help to spread the word. Payment will be by check made payable to the Calgary Parachute Club.

    News from Aerosoftware

Jan Meyer [Aerosoftware@MakeItHappen.com] of Aerosoftware is leading an effort to upgrade all written exams that are administered by USPA. The goal is to have a pool of questions on several topics for each exam type. Each exam takes questions from the pool and covers topics at an appropriate frequency. This is similar to the FAA exam process.

Any interested skydiver may submit questions at www.MakeItHappen.com/uspa/. The collection of questions will be tested (and modified) online at a later date.

Vote for "Dropzone of the Year"
    submitted by Jumprun.com

Jumprun.com is updating its site to include new features and improvements on many older features. We have decided to let YOU pick the DZ of the year, as for the past two years we have picked the DZ of the year. Skydive Chicago was our first-year pick 1998-99 season and their first year at the new DZ. Zhills captured our hearts for the 1999-2000 season. Though most would agree with our choices, we want to be fair to those who want to partake.
Here are the voting rules to try to make this as fair as possible.

    1. Cast your vote at vote@jumprun.com
    2. Put your choice in the subject line.
    3. Confirm your choice in the body of the e-mail.
    4. Give your name and USPA number or latest license and the date you received it. If you have neither of these, write a detailed description of where and when your last jump was and a phone number that could confirm it.
    5. In the body of the e-mail you may write a description of why you feel your choice of DZ's should win. This is not required.
    6. A DZ can win only once every five years to maximize this exposure.

Random voters will receive free Jumprun.com stuff. The winner shall receive six Jumprun jackets, and a year of recognition on jumprun.com with it's own page, with voter comments and a review as well as a link to their official site.
