Mike Ortiz My name is Mike Ortiz and I am a candidate for National Director of the USPA Board of Directors. Hopefully, this e-mail will answer a few questions if you do not know me, or why I am running for the Board. I am an active skydiver with almost 8000 sport jumps. I have a broad range of experience with a focus in freeflying, canopy flight, cameraflying, and media. I have competed Internationally, as well as judged and organized competitions. Together with my teammates, the Flyboyz, I have been operating a school safely training skydivers for more than four years. This background has allowed me to work successfully with dropzones, manufacturers and the media to create a positive image for my team and my sport.
I plan to help institute accepted safety guidelines for freefly and freefly instruction. Hopefully, this will result in an accepted rating system and teaching method. I also plan to work towards a more progressive approach to teaching parachute flight and landing techniques. I feel that these two aspects of our sport are in need of attention on the National level, and I believe that I am qualified to help in these areas. These are my primary goals and once they have been accomplished, many other things can be addressed to improve the sport for everyone. I encourage anyone with questions about myself or my ideas, to please contact me.
I encourage you to vote Mike Ortiz for National Director.
We are the future of our sport.
Thank You, Mike Ortiz [Flyboyz]
