There are always special events and courses on the drop zones worldwide. We'll try to figure them out for you and post them here. We also like to publish your stories and impressions of events, you just have to write them down and send them to us. | S.O.S. Record Skydives All SOS [Skydivers Over Sixty] members and prospective members who are current relative workers with sufficient big-formation skills are invited to attend the SOS record attempts October 5-7 at Skydive Elsinore in California. The group wants to top a 22-way formation built last year also in Elsinore. Base practice will be September 29 and 30, the weekend before the record attempts. For those who'd like to come early, we will also be doing warm-up dives that weekend. You do not have to be part of the base practice or warm-up dives to participate in the record attempts. There will be a big-way camp October 4. For more information contact jwbubba@aol.com.
Canadian Big Ways The Canadian Big Ways will take place July 23-27 at Skydive Burnaby, Ontario, Canada. The "Team 100" will attempt to set a new record for the largest freefall formation of all Canadians. Last year's attempt built to 54. A previous record of 50 was set during the 1996 Canadian National Championships at the Swoop DZ, Grand Bend, Ontario. For more information check out http://SkydiveCanada.ca/Team100/index.shtml.
AFF Certification Course Denver Skydivers in Brush, Colorado, will be hosting an AFF Certification Course starting June 23. Rick Horn will be course director and info can be obtained on his website at www.rickhorn.com. If you need to do the BIC first, Rick will be conducting one starting on Friday, June 22. Strong Tandem Certification Courses Strong Tandem Certification Courses will be offered at Central Michigan Skydiving in Mt.
