    On January 9 the Los Angeles police arrested a BASE jumper after he leaped from a skyscraper and landed on their squad car. The 29-year-old has been charged with trespass after the jump from a building on Wilshire Boulevard. The jumper landed safely but a headlight on the police car was broken during the incident.

    The folks at Millennium Skydiving in Illinois have decided to keep the dropzone open all year. For the remainder of the winter season, they will be open on Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting. They have a heated packing hangar, ahard surface runways, and all the coffee and hot cider you can drink. Also for the more adventurous, tandems are $149.00 for the remainder of the winter season. The site includes a weekly Rigger "Rant and Rave" with information, commentary, tips, rants and raves on the skydiving industry. A new "Rant and Rave" is posted every Monday.     There's a new chat room and message board for skydivers from the North East region. This site will add to the usual club specific banter boards that many clubs already have. It allows posting of pictures, additions to a colander of events, discussion forum, polls, sharing of files etc. All North East region's DZ's are invited to join in.     The Canadian St. Catharines Parachute Club is pleased to announce they will be hosting the 2002 AGM.
